Tony's journey in the world of bricklaying began in England in 1983 when he started his apprenticeship. By 1986, he had already made his mark, winning the prestigious Silver Trowel Award from The Brick Development Association in the UK—a testament to his skill and commitment.
Upon completing his apprenticeship, Tony moved to London to broaden his horizons. At that time, most of his work had been focused on housing and housing estates, but in London, he took on more high-profile projects. Over the next four years, Tony thrived in his role as a Site Bricklaying Foreman, contributing to landmark developments such as Langham Palace, Liverpool St Station, and the Lakeside Shopping Centre.
After his success in London, Tony moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, where he took on the role of General Site Foreman. There, he led the construction of the South Gyle Shopping Centre and the Murrayfield Stadium Upgrade, further cementing his reputation in the industry.
In 1995, Tony and his family packed up and moved to New Zealand. Starting afresh, Tony worked as a bricklayer, but it didn't take long for him to realize the incredible potential to build his own company. In 2000, he founded TS Bricklayers, which quickly grew and flourished, thanks to his dedication to quality and building strong, lasting relationships. His philosophy is simple yet powerful: quality is the foundation of any successful business and a good team is key. The consistent accolades and awards TS Bricklayers have received over the years are a clear reflection of this commitment.
Tony is a proud Registered Master Mason, and a member of the NZ Master Brick & Blocklayers Federation. He holds a current Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) certification.

Darren’s bricklaying career began in 1986 as an apprentice in London, where he excelled and graduated with distinction. His early years were spent working on various prestigious sites across Greater London, refining his craft and gaining invaluable experience.
Driven by ambition, Darren went on to co-found his own company with his bricklaying partner, which became a highly successful venture that flourished for many years.
In 2006, seeking a new adventure, Darren and his family made the bold decision to relocate to New Zealand. It wasn’t long before he connected with TS Bricklayers and resumed his work as a bricklayer. His exceptional skill and dedication quickly became apparent, and Darren was soon promoted to Foreman, overseeing major projects like the Auckland Paremoremo Prison and the ASB Theatre. His impeccable attention to detail was evident in every project, leading to outstanding results.
Recognizing Darren’s potential, TS Bricklayers elevated him to the role of Operations Manager—a demanding position he thrives in. For over a decade, Darren has brought his leadership, passion for quality, and collaborative spirit to the role, ensuring every project meets the highest standards.
A firm believer in the power of teamwork and always striving for excellence, Darren is proud of the skilled team he leads. He holds a current Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) certification and is an Associate Member of the NZ Master Brick & Blocklayers Federation.

Lara moved to New Zealand with her husband, Tony, in 1995, bringing with her knowledge and experience in accountancy.
In 2015, with TS Bricklayers experiencing rapid growth and ongoing success, Lara officially joined the team. Since then, she has become an integral part of TS Bricklayers, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s operational strength and sustainability.
Lara oversees a broad range of responsibilities, including financial management, health & safety, and the smooth day-to-day running of operations. Her keen eye for detail, and commitment to quality help ensure everything behind the scenes runs like clockwork.
Her contribution continues to drive TS Bricklayers forward, allowing the company to build not only strong structures—but a strong future.
